Dallas Park and Recreation Department Launches Park Ranger Program

The Dallas Park and Recreation Department has a new team committed to providing the highest standards of public safety to ensure residents have a fun and safe experience while visiting our Dallas parks, trails and facilities.

“The Dallas Park and Recreation currently has six Park Rangers monitoring our entire park system,” said Willis Winters, Dallas Park and Recreation Director. “It’s all in an effort to support the Department’s mission by providing efficient and effective public safety, while fostering environmental stewardship.”

You’ve probably already seen them or on our parks and trails; they’re hard to miss with their specialized uniforms and branded vehicles. The Park Rangers wear green Ranger hats with matching shirts and khakis. Park Rangers are also committed to serving the community through their outreach programs.

“We look forward to serving the community and finding new ways to make our park system among the safest in the country,” said Oscar Carmona, Dallas Park and Recreation Assistant Director. “It takes a village so please join us – if you see something that doesn’t look right, say something!”

During the day, Park Rangers can be reached at 214-670-6840. For non-emergencies, after hours, please call 311.  As always, for emergencies please call 911 immediately.
